Given the extraordinary circumstances of 2020, GRE scores are optional for most non-thesis and certificate program applicants for the fall 2021 term. This includes applicants for the online Smart Manufacturing certificate program.

Program Overview

Space exploration, national security, biomedicine and energy are just a few of the industries that rely on agile, cutting-edge smart manufacturing techniques to improve both affordability and performance.

The Smart Manufacturing certificate program is designed to be earned entirely online. Each online class lasts eight weeks and requires approximately 15 hours per week. Designed for working professionals or full-time students, this innovative professional certificate can be earned in just one academic year.

Requirements and Costs

Certificate

  • Candidates must have completed a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution
  • A minimum grade-point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is preferred
  • Statement of purpose letter: present your professional and personal goals
  • Resume/CV

Smart Manufacturing Graduate Certificate (12 credit hours)

  • AMFG422 or AMFG522 Lean Manufacturing (3.0 credit hours)
  • CEEN401 or CEEN501 Life Cycle Assessment (3.0 credit hours)
  • ORWE5XX Optimal Planning of Manufacturing Operations (3.0 credit hours)
  • EBGN576 Managing and Marketing New Product Developments (3.0 credit hours)

Only 3 of the 12 required credit hours can include coursework at the 400 level or lower to achieve the graduate certificate.
